The Story
Another old mansion in an early Milwaukee "Gold Coast," now the east side "A" redevelopment project, will be chewed to the ground soon by the steel jaws of a clamshell. It stands on the northwest corner of E. Juneau Avenue and N. Milwaukee Street, where it was erected in 1874-75 by John Black, who became Milwaukee's 20th mayor three years after he moved into it.
