The Story
Orleanians Kurt E. Schon and Mrs. Schon, whose European Art Imports occupies suites 135-137 in the Gateway Building, find themselves in the unexpected position of owning a painting that is considered a British National Treasure. And both pleaded innocent to any charges of international art rape. The work in question is a watercolor sketch, done on the scene, of the German Council in the much publicized 1946-47 Nuremberg War Trials. Mrs. Kurt Schon admires Nuremberg sketch. The historical work, which was done by Dame Laura Knight, is considered a British National Treasure.
