Girl Eats Grasshopper. Atlanta: Martha Greer, stenographer, opens wide her mouth to consume a grasshopper, in Atlanta, as co-workers Dan Moon and Hazel Hand frown on the undertaking. Martha, who read a newspaper account of another girl eating a grasshopper, said she would eat one if the office employees who watched would pay her fifty cents each. She collected six dollars in cash, four dollars in I.O.U.'s and upheld her end of the obligation.
